Loving Support for Pregnancy, Birth and Breastfeeding

About Me

I am the mother of three incredible children.  My journey into the field of lactation and birth work was inspired by my own experiences of giving birth and breastfeeding.  I became a member of La Leche League while still pregnant with my first son 9 years ago and was so grateful for the support and information I received from the other mothers.  I quickly developed a passion for all things related to birth and breastfeeding and had an intense desire to support and encourage other women as I had been supported.

I became an accredited mother-to-mother support group leader after the birth of my second child in 2006--a beautiful and transformational home birth.   After a difficult and traumatizing hospital birth with my first baby, I discovered how incredibly empowering birth can be when women are supported, informed and allowed to follow their body's lead. This second birth motivated me to explore doula work and childbirth education.

In 2008, I became a Certified Lactation Counselor (CLC) and received my training as a doula and childbirth educator through Nurturing Hearts Birth Services and DONA (Doulas of North America).  In 2009 I sat for the International Board of Lactation Consultant Examiners board certification exam and became an International Board Certified Lactation Consultant (IBCLC).  I welcomed my third child in December, 2009--a second, peaceful homebirth--and I am now enjoying private practice based in Queen Creek, AZ.

I believe in the inherent normalcy of birth and breastfeeding.  I believe in the strength and dignity of women.  I am honored, humbled  and awed daily by my work.  I am blessed beyond belief.

"We have a secret in our culture...and it's not that birth is painful.  It's that women are strong."
